GIANTS Editor 10.0.10 released and more

So that was fast…another version of the editor shortly after the release of version 10.0.9, 28th October.
Now what I can tell from 10.0.9 is that the placeable shader has gotten some new features for terrainSampleVT.

There’s some new attributes here for blending terrain textures with surface meshes…like rocks. Now the old feature known before is the heightMask. In case of what it does, it simply add-to or lower the texture mix between the terrain and the mesh.

So to just give the newbies some hints…map modders especially: The mesh in the picture (this giant rock) is getting the surrounded surface terrain texture painted on “the head”, thanks to heightMaskSlope – which is the secondary control function for the heightMask.

The other feature added to this placeable shader, is wetShininess, which is the secondary control function to wetnessScale. In case you wonder, these are essential for in-game weather effects affecting outdoor meshes (indoor meshes also – if placeable shader is used…since snow and wetness is ON by default).

So what was new in 10.0.10?

– Fixed GDM conversion when increasing the number of channels
