Big Challenge and Low Reward: Two Hearts and 11 639 views

It has been almost a year since the Zielonka City project began. A huge amount of time and effort is spent on self-made assets for this mod. However, if you head over to KingMods, you may add a significant amount of work to something that is valuable to you, post a WIP, and feel ignored afterwards. Why is that so?

The reason for the WHYs is simply how the modding community over there looks like “behind the scenes”: Jealousy and hatred.
Hate is something that, at times, is expressed in a form of silent response, when the views just tell me: “Oh, hi there!”
But no, there are mods and projects for Farming Simulator from ‘wannabe modders’ that get rushed so fast at KingMods that the mods are hardly playable. Why’s that so? It’s simply not about the mod; it’s about validation to compensate for low self-esteem, driven by an enormous egotistical mind. IT IS NOT about the mod but rather about clicks, views and downloads. The “hall of fame” is a grandiose illusion maintained by a growing ego. Why just not get real for once and stop chasing something so artificial?

Do you think I really need to step carefully here? Sorry, I’m not. It’s not for me to please the public with something that is rushed for release or write people-pleasing critics and reviews on game mods made by others. And I don’t base my opinion on public views and what I cannot air. I write my opinions based on what I sense.

‘Oh that DLC is so Expensive’

The other thing I had previously read in Farming Simulator Discussions on Steam was a complaint about the price of the new DLC for FS25. Now, why does ModHub exist? Do people know how much data is stored in ModHub that is publicly available online 24/7? All those mods at ModHub are for sure available, and someone has to pay the price for the hosting of all the free mods for Farming Simulator.
Now the so-called “freeware customer” complaining about the price for DLC content is living on a “freebee planet” where “everything is free.” Well, actually, you don’t pay to access ModHub, so what’s the problem then?

It’s probably very hard for some to read the text that says FREE. And you got mods that go back to FS22.
That’s a lot of FREE mods that get checked by GIANTS Software before being released, thankfully.

And it should continue that way, when you see all the mods at other websites that, for what we know, aren’t properly made and are certainly not error-free. In fact, I don’t rate or comment on those mods at all, simply because it would be too harsh in criticism, which could quickly crush someone’s low self-esteem, triggering an impactful “fight or flight” response from the so-called “sensitive modder.”

I gladly take those two hearts and 11,639 views as credits at the end of the day. And it’s simply because I no longer care about the psychological warfare known as drama. I take my mod projects very personally, and I will continue to do so. What isn’t achievable is to fix someone’s low self-esteem, ruled by a social media culture that favors garbage. Just don’t get yourself educated in narcissism nowadays. It’s for real and clearly visible.

Yes, I told you I’m going to step carefully into someone’s fantasy flower bed…

Why is ModHub important?

This screengrab is from a Patreon website, where the paid membership pack says: “You will get all of my mods, and fund my future projects.” Hmmm… This is your paywall for accessing mods that the author of the credits line may not have created.

This is from another Patreon website, showcasing paid mods. Surely there’s a lot of work that might go into a game mod, but you might just as me wonder where they get their parts from…if they even make the mod from baseline up, or just steal or theft it from someone else’s mods. Just saying…
